FBR launches online service to monitor tax profile
The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) on Friday launched the online FBR Tax Profiling System, which facilitates 53 million people to check their bank details, assets, utility bills and travel history data.
In a press conference, FBR Chairman Shabbar Zaidi introduced the government-led system which enables citizens to monitor their tax profile on payment of Rs500 fee per each attempt.
The data has been accumulated with the help of National Database and Registration Authority. Citizens will be able to request access to their information on the basis of their computerised national identity card (CNIC) and cell phone number.
For security purpose, specific features have been added to the online profile system to preserve personal information of another person.
If a person wants to access their information, they will have to send a message to 6699 to receive a code for registration on the system – which will then require the user to undergo the payment procedure.
