Pakistanis always show love and support, Shane Watson
KARACHI: Former Australian all-rounder Shane Watson extolled the virtues of Pakistani people for the love and support he received from the nationals during his visit here for Pakistan Super League matches.
“I was looked after incredibly well. The love and support I got since I arrive is incredible and it not surprising at all because any time in different parts of the world where Pakistani fans are around they always show love and support, I had a very special time here.”
The Gladiators stalwart also appreciated his team members in the context and said he will be going home with incredible memories from the tournament.
“I am part of Quetta for last two years and it’s a very special environment. I am certainly taking away so many incredible memories having so many great people as part of the franchise and our win tonight is very special,” he said.
Watson said he owes it to his family for encouraging him to come all the way to Pakistan and be a part of the Karachi-leg of PSL.
“It always came down to my family, I talked to my wife and my son who was struggling with me being away. It’s a family decision. My wife has been incredibly supportive, she always has been throughout my career and she tries to make things work. I am glad it worked out,” he said.
Shane Watson is the highest run-scorer not only for Quetta Gladiators but also in the tournament so far.
All rounder @ShaneRWatson33 of @TeamQuetta was named as the Player of #HBLPSL 2019 after the World Cup winner with Australia finished as the leading run-getter in the 32-day tournament, which culminated at the National Stadium on Sunday.
