Azadi March: Shahid Afridi criticizes ‘dharna unit’
KARACHI: Star cricketer Shahid Afridi took opposition parties to task for staging a sit-in in Islamabad and seeking to oust Prime Minister Imran Khan from power.
Taking to Twitter on Saturday, Afridi reminded that opposition parties, which were united against the PTI government, were once against each other.
He urged the opposition to join hands wit the government instead of seeking its removal.
“The first duty of a Pakistani is to think for Pakistan. Dharna unit was against each other once, will they stay United? If so why cant they be United with the current Goverment ? Poor memories are great gift for self-destruction. #ImPakistani,” the cricketer tweeted without naming any party.
JUI-F leader Maulana Fazlur Rehman, who is leading the leading the protest sit-in, has asked Prime Minsiter Imran Khan to step down within two days or face action.
