Australia whitewash Sri Lanka in T20 series
MELBOURNE: An unbeaten half-century from David Warner has guided Australia to a seven-wicket win over Sri Lanka at the MCG to clean sweep their three-match T20 series.
Pat Cummins was the best of the Australian bowlers with 2-23, as Sri Lanka was restricted to 6-142. Australia had won the opening two matches by 134 runs and nine wickets respectively.
Warner, who was not dismissed in three innings this series, was unbeaten on 57 off 50 balls, with four fours and a six.
On the back of his 100 in Adelaide and a 60 in Brisbane, Warner was the highest run scorer in the series with 217 and was not dismissed once across the three games, although he did benefit from some luck on Friday night when he was dropped on 12.
He helped Australia clinch victory with 14 balls to spare in front of a sparse crowd of 28,568 spectators, the hosts having earlier restricted Sri Lanka to 6-142 from its 20 overs.
