Moin Khan, Nadeem Omar slam PCB for sacking Sarfaraz
Pakistan’s former captain Moin Khan and owner Quetta Gladiators, Nadeem Omer lashed out at the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for removing Sarfaraz Ahmed as captain.
While talking to ARY News, Moin Khan said “Misbah and Waqar never liked Sarfraz. I am shocked that the PCB has removed Sarfraz from captaincy in T20I cricket. He has led Pakistan to 11 consecutive T20I series’ win and you can’t remove him due to few poor performances.”
Meanwhile, Nadeem Omar, owner PSL’s franchise Quetta Gladiators came in support of Sarfaraz Ahmed, hours after he was sacked as Pakistan team’s captain.
Nadeem Omer said in a statement that sacking of Sarfaraz Ahmed is unprecedentedly unfair and demanded that the wicket-keeper batsman should be reinstated immediately to his position as skipper.
“Sacking of Sarfaraz Ahmed from all the format is very shocking news, this is unprecedentedly unfair and you don’t see such decisions in Cricketing world when you see that captain of a top ranked team is removed after one bad series,” he said.
“He has won 11 consecutive series and made Pakistan a top ranked T20 side. Sarfaraz has been leading since U19 days and he has won several laurels for Pakistan. Even in ODIs, we were ranked amongst lowest ranking teams when he was made captain and Pakistan was even struggling to qualify for the world cup directly,” Omar added.
