Bangladesh’s tour of India in jeopardy as top cricketers go on strike

DHAKA: Bangladesh’s upcoming tour of India is in doubt after Bangladesh cricketers went on a strike until their 11-point demand list is not fulfilled by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).

According to details, senior players like Shakib al Hasan and Tamim Iqbal announced this declaration during a presser held by them in Mirpur on Monday.

Besides Mahmudllah Riyad, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Arafat Sunny, Junaid Siddique, Enamul Haque Jnr, Taskin Ahmed, Elias Sunny, Farhad Reza and other cricketers were presented at the press conference.

It is pertinent to mention here that Bangladesh are scheduled to tour India for a three-match Twenty20 series and a two-Test series, which starts from November 3.

Improvement of payment structure and practice facilities in Dhaka Premier League, National Cricket League and Bangladesh Premier League were the major demands among others.

Meanwhile, BCB CEO Nizamuddin Chowdhry said “We just came to know about it we will discuss it in the board and try to resolve it as soon as possible.”
