Shehbaz to take Nawaz abroad for medical treatment: report
LONDON: According to a report in Geo News, former prime minister Nawaz Sharif has agreed to go to London to seek medical treatment for his ailment.
According to a report in Geo News by Murtaza Ali Shah, Shehbaz Sharif has convinced the former prime minister to go to London for medical treatment.
The report claimed that Nawaz had initially refused to go abroad for medical treatment but his brother convinced him to put health before politics.
“Shehbaz Sharif has told his brother that his health comes before politics and everything else. Its important that Nawaz Sharif is in good health and he should get the best possible treatment at the best possible facilities,” the report quoted a source as saying.
Dr Mahmood Ayaz, who heads the medical board of doctors formed to oversee the treatment of the former prime minister, agreed that the former prime minister needs to go abroad.
He said that doctors at the Services Hospital could recommend the former prime minister be taken abroad for genetic tests.
Nawaz was granted bail by the Islamabad High Court last month for eight weeks on medical grounds, after his health deteriorated following a drop in his platelet count.
