Shahid Khaqan Abbasi moved from Adiala jail for surgery
ISLAMABAD: Former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has been moved from Adiala Jail to a private hospital where he is expected to undergo a surgery.
The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader (PML-N) is in custody in connection with a National Accountability Bureau inquiry into LNG scandal.
He was earlier shifted to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) for medical check-up after his condition worsened on Saturday.
The medical board recommended a hernia surgery for the PML-N leader but the former premier was not ready to be operated at PIMS.
Last week, Abbasi also moved a petition in the accountability court seeking permission to be treated at Al-Shifa Hospital at his expense.
