PM Khan says he will refuse any unconstitutional, undemocratic demands
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has refused to accept any unconstitutional and undemocratic demands of the Rahber Committee concerning the Azadi March.
The prime minister reiterated his concern when the negotiating team of the committee called on PM Imran Khan to discuss the next steps regarding the Azadi March.
The meeting also included PTI leaders Asad Umar, Shafqat Mahmood, Shireen Mazari, and Faisal Javed Khan.
The PTI’s core committee led by Defence Minister Pervez Khattak will contact the Rahbar Committee over the JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s address.
During the meeting, the premier directed the team to continue negotiating with the Rahbar Committee and advised them to not get intimidated by the protests.
He added that negotiations should not happen if there were attempts to blackmail the government, Geo News quoted citing sources.
The government has decided to approach Maulana Fazl after he gave the prime minister a two-day deadline to resign from the post.
Fazl was addressing a large crowd at Azadi March in the federal capital a day earlier where he was also joined by other opposition leaders.
