Medical test recommended for Nawaz Sharif not available in Pakistan
Nawaz Sharif has been recommended certain medical tests – including a genetic test — which are not available in Pakistan, said the head of the medical panel overseeing the treatment of the former prime minister.
Citing the panel’s head, Professor Mehmood Ayaz, Geo News reported that Nawaz Sharif needs to go abroad for treatment and would the panel would give in writing that he should undergo genetic test from abroad.
Ayaz stressed that the ailing leader was not suffering a minor genetic issue.
The medical board recommended the genetic test after they noticed that Sharif’s platelet levels could not be restored to normal levels.
Mian Nawaz was taken to Sharif City Hospital in Lahore and an ambulance was present outside the Services Hospital for the purpose.
On October 29, the Islamabad High Court suspended Sharif’s sentence in the Al-Azizia corruption reference for eight weeks on medical grounds.
His daughter, Maryam Nawaz’s bail plea was also approved in two cases against her in the wake of her father’s condition recently.
