Azadi March: Maulana Fazlur Rehman to present demands after Friday prayers
ISLAMABAD: Thousands of workers of JUI-F and its allies staged a sit-in in on Friday after arriving in Islamabad from Karachi and other parts of Pakistan.
The protest being dubbed as Azadi March entered the federal capital, days after it set off from Karachi under the leadership of JUI-F leader Maulana Fazlur Rehman.
PML-N and PPP leaders welcomed the marchers in Islamabad.
Addressing the gathering, Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that he would present his final demands after Friday prayers.
According to reports, consultations are underway to finalize a charter of demands.
In Karachi, Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that he would demand the resignation of Prime Minister Imran Khan and fresh elections.
In Islamabad, schools remain closed due to security reasons, according to the Private Schools Association.
