Next 48 hours critical for Nawaz Sharif’s health, says his physician
ISLAMABAD: Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif is fighting the battle for his health and life and the next 48 hours are very critical, his physician Dr Adnan Khan said.
Taking to Twitter on Tuesday morning, Dr Khan said that Nawaz Sharif was critically ill.
“Thrombocytopenia (Low Platelet Count) & NSTEMI (Heart Attack) is further complicated by deteriorating Kidney functions. Poor Blood Sugar & Blood Pressure control is taking its toll,” he wrote.
Pending Scans/Biopsies, diagnostic dilemma still ensues from multiple complex pathologies & co-morbidities, he said, adding in a paradoxical catch 22 situation; establishing a definitive diagnosis & subsequent management poses considerable risk to #NawazSharif’s fragile & unstable health.
The former three-time premier is under treatment at Lahore’s Services Hospital, where he was rushed after his platelets dropped a dangerous level.
Sharif was subsequently granted interim bail by the Islamabad High Court on health grounds until Tuesday.
According to sources, Sharif could be shifted to Sharif Medical City for further treatment if he refused to go abroad.
