Govt decides to allow JUI-F to hold ‘Azadi March’

ISLAMABAD: The federal government has decided to allow Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) to hold ‘Azadi March’ towards Islamabad on October 31.

The decision has been taken by Prime Minister Imran Khan during is meeting with government’s team tasked with holding talks with the opposition parties.

“PTI has a firm belief in democratic values. We will not stop the Azadi march if it is held in accordance with the law and the constitution,” PM Khan was quoted as saying.

According to the PM office, the permission for the march was connected with the courts’ verdicts.

A final decision will be taken in line with the court’s order, it added.

Opposition parties led by JUI-F are scheduled to march on Islamabad on October 29. PML-N, PPP and several others parties have pledged their support for the anti-government protest march.
