Shehbaz Sharif, Bilawal Bhutto skip opposition’s meet on Azadi March
ISLAMABAD: PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif and PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto have not attended an all-party conference being headed by Maulana Fazlur Rehman at his residence in Islamabad.
“Shehbaz Sharif will not be able to attend the APC. But the suggestions made in PML-N’s consultative meeting will be presented before the Rehbar Committee,” Ahsan Iqbal told media in Islamabad.
He, however, refused to divulge more details.
The former interior minister said that opposition parties should move ahead on a single platform against its struggle for the removal of PTI government. The PML-N, he said, would play its proactive role to seek Imran Khan’s resignation and fresh polls.
“We will abide by decisions that are made by the APC and Rehbar Committee,” he said.
Iqbal said that PML-N would continue to play its role in line with the political vision of Nawaz Sharif. “Opposition parties fully participated in the Azadi March. We will actively extend our political support for Azadi march.”
