Nawaz Sharif to fly abroad for treatment
ISLAMABAD: Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif is likely to leave for London on Sunday along with PML-N president Shehbaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz for medical treatment.
According to sources privy to the development, the federal government has decided to lift travel ban on the former premier and other members of his family.
The interior ministry will write a letter to the federal cabinet seeking approval for removing names of Sharif family from exit-control list (ECL).
Sources say that Shehbaz Sharif will accompany Nawaz Sharif for his treatment abroad, and has cancelled all other engagements.
Maryam Nawaz has reportedly contacted her legal team and decided to file miscellaneous petition to get her passport back which was submitted in the Lahore High Court following her bail approval.
The counsels also met Shehbaz Sharif. LHC grants bail to Nawaz Sharif in Chaudhry Sugar Mills case.
On October 25, the Lahore High Court (LHC) had bailed Nawaz Sharif indefinitely on medical grounds in Chaudhry Sugar Mills case, days after he was taken to Services Hospital from Kot Lakhpat Jail after deterioration of his health.
