Bakhtawar welcomes LHC decision for Maryam’s release
KARACHI: Bakhtawar Bhutto Zardari, sister of PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, welcomed the Lahore High Court’s decision to grant bail to Maryam Nawaz.
Taking to Twitter on Monday, Bakhtawar hoped that justice would be done with Asif Ali Zardari who was being held without a trial.
“Appreciate decision for @MaryamNSharif release. Hopeful though for the correction of the miscarriage of justice – the arrest of a former president @AAliZardari for 6 months now without a trial, without a conviction,” Bakhtawar wrote.
Earlier, Lahore High Court granted bail to PML-N leader Maryam Nawaz in the Chaudhry Sugar Mills case.
A division bench of the high court comprising Justice Ali Baqar Najafi and Justice Sardar Ahmad Naeem announced the verdict.
The bench had reserved the verdict on October 31 and scheduled the hearing on November 4.
On Oct 24, Maryam Nawaz filed for immediate bail after her father’s health deteriorated last month.
