Azadi March: Govt, opposition teams to resume talks
ISLAMABAD: Committees representing opposition parties and government will resume talks on Tuesday in a bid to peacefully end the protest sit-in being led by JUI-F in Islamabad.
The meeting will take place at 3pm.
The government committee led by Federal Minister for Defence Pervez Khattak met the opposition’s Rahbar Committee headed by Akram Khan Durrani in Islamabad yesterday.
Talking to media persons, Pervez Khattak said the opposition is adhering to the agreement it had signed with the government.
He also expressed the hope that there would be a positive outcome of the talks.
Akram Durrani said they had presented demands of the opposition to the government and a detailed discussions were held in this context.
According to opposition leaders, they reiterated their demand for Prime Minister Imran Khan’s resignation and fresh elections without army’s involvement.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Imran Khan also summoned his negotiating team for briefing.
