We will make movies on Islamic history: PM Khan
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Wednesday flagged the need to incorporate Muslim heroes in our local movies at an event in the federal capital.
Speaking on its significance, the prime minister said the West has long been making biopics on freedom fighters and shedding light on important historic events.
“We need to make films on our heroes like Khalid ibn al-Walid and others,” he said.
He expressed disappointment that Pakistani children who know about the West but have no insight about Islamic history, its heroes and how Muslims rose to prominence.
He spoke about a Turkish series based on the Ottoman Empire and suggested that an Urdu-dubbed version of the serial should be made to educate people about the rise of the Ottoman Empire and its rule over half Europe.
