Google honours Waheed Murad with doodle on 81st birth anniversary
Pakistani actor, producer and script writer Waheed Murad would have been 81 today, had he been alive. Google honoured the Pakistani legend with a doodle, on Wednesday.
In his lifetime, Waheed Murad appeared in over 120 films. He is arguably Pakistan’s most recognised and famous actor.
He was born in Sialkot in 1938 and passed away in Karachi, in November 1983. He graduated from S.M.Arts College in Karachi and obtained a Masters in Literature from the University of Karachi.
Murad first starred in a movie in 1959 with a cameo role in ‘Saathi’. He went on to star in many films and won several accolades.
All in all, Murad won 32 film awards over the course of his career and received several posthumous rewards as well.
Google depicted him as he was–with boyish good looks and an oozing charm emanating from the doodle.
