Video: Are burqas the answer for fighting sexual harassment?
A PTI district councilor, Muzaffar Shah, raised eyebrows in Mardan town of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for distributing shuttleclock burqas among female students in a government-run school.
The move sparked a debate whether asking girls to cover up or wear burqas was the answer to fight sexual harassment and child abuse. The Human Rights Commission of Pakistan condemned the ruling party, accusing it of promoting Talibanization and religious extremism in the province.
