LoC ceasefire violation: Soldier martyred, two civilians injured
RAWALPINDI: One Pakistan Army soldier was martyred and two civilians were injured due to ceasefire violation at the Line of Control (LoC) said the ISPR, on Thursday.
According to a press release by the military’s media wing, a Pakistan Army soldier Sepoy Naimat Wali was martyred as India’s Border Security Force (BSF) resorted to unprovoked firing across the LoC in Baroh and Chirikot sector.
Two women in the Serian village were also injured as a result of the firing. This is the second such incident in two days as two more civilians were injured in ceasefire violations by the Indian troops on Wednesday.
The press release claimed that Pakistan Army responded to the Indian aggression effectively. The ISPR stated that there were reports of casualties on the Indian side as well and their posts were ‘substantially damaged’.
Relations between the two nuclear-armed states have deteriorated after India revoked Article 370 of the Indian constitution. The article recognised occupied Jammu and Kashmir as a special territory.
A curfew has been in-place in the occupied territory since more than 60 days now. Prime Minister Khan, in his UNGA speech, slammed Modi and India for holding more than eight million people hostage in occupied Kashmir.
Pakistan had responded sharply to the development by downgrading ties with India and suspending trade with her. Prime Minister Khan and the military leadership have, on numerous occasions, warned the world that India was planning a false flag operation to shift the focus of the world from occupied Kashmir.
