Rana Sanaullah withdraws bail request in narcotics case
LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Rana Sanaullah on Thursday withdrew his post-bail application in relation to the narcotics case against him.
The lawmaker had approached the Lahore High Court for post-arrest bail after a special court for Control of Narcotics Substance had on Sept 20 dismissed bail petition of Sanaullah while releasing five co-suspects.
The application will be filed again once Sanaullah’s lawyer reviews the CCTV footage of the arrest as permitted by the drug court. The party members will be able to identify the cars after watching the footage.
The lawyer will determine whether the video can be submitted along with the bail application.
The PML-N leader was arrested on July 1 after ANF claimed the 15 kilogrammes of heroin was seized from Sanaullah’s car. The latter pleaded not guilty. Sanaullah’s wife claimed that it was rather a conspiracy plotted against him under political motives.
On Wednesday, Sanaullah said that he was even unable to pay his lawyers as all his accounts have been seized.
