Punjab to suspend mobile phone, internet services on Chehlum
LAHORE: The Punjab government has decided to suspend mobile phone and internet services in Lahore in view of security concerns on the occasion of the Chehlum of Imam Hussain (AS) on Sunday.
A ban on pillion riding has been approved for the Chehlum.
Strict security measures are being put in place to protest procession routes in Lahore.
According to officials, walkthrough gates will be installed for screening of participants.
Rescue 1122 will accompany the Chehlum participants to provide timely treatment in case of any emergency.
The police have been directed to facilitate the mourners and avert any untoward incident.
