Priyanka Chopra relived moment she cried to her father
MUMBAI: Indian actor Priyanka Chopra has revealed that she had once cried after being replaced in a film without any intimation.
“I have been replaced. Yes. Once, a co-actor told me, and once, I read it in the newspaper. I just chose not to be a victim of my circumstances. Of course, I went and cried to my father, why me? But then he told me what are you going to do about it? I just made sure to be excellent in my next film and learn the job well. Even if the film doesn’t do well, I want to make sure that what I do is excellent,” the actor told Pinkvilla.
She is all set to return to Hindi cinema after three years with an emotional and engaging story titled The Sky is Pink.
About being called ‘replaceable’ Priyanka revealed how she made sure to be so excellent at her job and bring about a course of change for the future generations.
She said, “It is not just true to me but of the industry. And not just of the industry, it is the truth of how women are treated around the world. Girls are always devalued. That a girl needs to be four times special or has to prove her mettle four times more than a guy. That is just the norm the world has created in a patriarchal society. It will take our generation of girls to change that for the next generation.”
