Nawaz Sharif writes to JUI-F chief, pledges support for Azadi march
ISLAMABAD: Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif pledged his support for anti-government long march being held by Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman.
In a letter written by the incarcerated PML-N leader on Thursday, Sharif said that the entire leadership and workers of the PML-N were with Maulana Fazlur Rehman in his ‘Azadi March’ endeavor.
The PML-N is with JUI-F till the ouster of the government which came into power through electoral fraud, Mr Sharif wrote.
This came after the cancellation of meeting between ex-prime minister Nawaz Sharif and Opposition Leader in National Assembly (NA) Shehbaz Sharif.
Shehbaz Sharif was scheduled to meet Nawaz Sharif at Kot Lakhpat jail to present his party recommendations on Azadi March for approval however, he has cancelled the plan owning to backache.
According to the JUI-F, Maulana Fazlur Rehman will lead the marchers to Islamabad on October 31.
