Arrest warrants issued for Agha Siraj Durrani’s family, other fugitives
KARACHI: An accountability court on Saturday issued non-bailable arrest warrants for Sindh Assembly Speaker Agha Siraj Durrani’s family among 12 fugitives in cases against the speaker.
The court issued non-bailable arrest warrants Durrani’s wife, son and daughters as the anti-graft bureau is investigating assets beyond means of income, alleged illegal appointments and embezzlement of public funds in the construction of the MPA Hostel and the new Sindh Assembly building.
In the recent hearing, the court ordered to speed up the trial against the provincial assembly speaker who was arrested earlier this year in related to the said cases.
The court asked the investigating officer what steps had been taken against the fugitives and whether they had been served notices.
The court also ordered that the CNIC cards of all the fugitives must be blocked and the present a report on the fugitives. The next hearing has been adjourned till Oct 22.
