Salahuddin's father speaks out against police after his son's death
GUJRANWALA: Salahuddin’s father spoke out against Punjab Police in a video message, saying that they hadn’t even been informed of his death until a few days later.
“He had his address written on his arm,” said Salahuddin’s father. “He was mentally ill and not a sound person at all.”
Salahuddin’s father also said that his son was tortured and beaten up by Punjab Police. After Salahuddin died, Punjab Police didn’t even bother telling them that he had been killed.
He was mentally ill person and we wrote down address on his arms but police didn’t contact us and after beating Brutally they kill him and also didn’t inform about death,

Salahuddin died in police custody on Sunday a day after his arrest on charges of stealing cash from ATMs.
He had gone viral after sticking his tongue out at ATM camera.
According to Salahuddin’s father, he had to struggle for two days and it was due to pressure from media and social media that made it possible to get an FIR registered.
In his FIR lodged against SHO Mahmood ul Hasan, Investigation Officer Shafaqat Ali, ASI Matloob Hussain, he said that Salahuddin was mentally challenged and that he had been missing for many days.
Salahuddin’s father further said that the police had carried out post-mortem of his son without his consent.
Separately, senior Punjab police officials ordered an inquiry into the death of the suspect in police custody. His death, on the other hand, sparked online outrage.
