MADINAH: Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi met a man from Pulwama who complained to him about the situation in occupied Kashmir, on Friday.

Foreign Minister Qureshi accompanied Prime Minister Khan to Saudi Arabia where the two performed Umrah in Makkah and then took to Madinah.

In Madinah, the foreign minister met a man from occupied Kashmir’s Pulwama. The man complained to the foreign minister about the ordeal in occupied Kashmir, where he hadn’t met or spoken to his parents for the past 48 hours.

“Yesterday in the holy city of Madinah this young man told me he has not spoken to his ageing parents in 48 days. He told me of the unprecedented violence in Pulwama in IOK. I promised him Pakistan is fighting at every diplomatic forum for the rights of Kashmiris. #LetKashmirSpeak,” he tweeted.

It has been more than 45 days since India revoked Article 370. The article recognised Kashmir as a special territory in the constitution. It’s revocation meant India illegally annexed the territory under the pretence of doing it for the sake of improving Kashmir’s economy.

Pakistan reacted sharply to the news, downgrading diplomatic ties with India and suspending trade with the country.

Prime Minister Khan has likened Modi to Hitler and the BJP to the Nazi Party.
