Medical student Nimrita Kumari was murdered, confirms autopsy report
LARKANA: Hindu medical student Nimrita Kumari was murdered and did not commit suicide, the autopsy report has confirmed.
Police initially claimed that it was a suicide case.
In his finding, Larkana police surgeon has stated that the victim had cuts on her body.
Kumari, a final year student of the Bibi Asifa Dental College, was found dead in her hostel room with a rope tied around her neck.
Nimrita’s friends claimed that they became worried when they knocked at her door. They claimed that she did not respond to the knocking at her door nor to their shouts.
The hostel’s guard broke into the hostel room to find the student lying on a charpoy, dead. Her body has been shifted to the district hospital for postmortem. However, her parents’ consent is being awaited to carry out the postmortem. Nimrita’s parents are in Karachi.
Police claimed that it was too soon to ascertain whether she had taken her own life or had been murdered. Nimrita belonged to to Mirpur Mathelo, a taluka of Ghotki.
The victim’s brother spoke to media and suspected that her sister was murdered.
Meanwhile, a protest was staged at Teen Talwar in Karachi on Tuesday to demand a probe into the suspicious death of a female medical student in Larkana.
Carrying placards, dozens of protesters called for investigations to determine the actual cause of death.
