I won’t be silenced; dirty pressure tactics won’t work, says Meesha Shafi’s witness
LAHORE: Leena Ghani, one of the witnesses of Meesha Shafi, has said that she is being harassed by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to withdraw her support for the singer.
In a detailed statement on social media, Ms Ghani said that she won’t be silenced by dirty pressure tactics and would fight for the justice.
The witness, who is the daughter of former Secretary Suleman Ghani, said that she had filed a petition in the court.
“My statement on the relentless harassment I have been facing. I won’t be silenced. Dirty pressure tactics won’t work!,” she wrote on Twitter.
“For the last two and a half months I have been harassed by the FIA repeatedly through summons and telephone calls, on the false accusation that I have committed defamation through my tweets, no complaint or any other document was made available. However, I was told that a complaint was made by petitioner 2 (Ali Zafar).
“The basis allegedly was a tweet I had made on 19th April 2018 and in no way constituted defamation, the harassment continued until the motive became clear. It was evident that I was being pressurized to withdraw my support for Meesha Shafi and no longer be willing to testify in her defence.
“I refuse to be bowed down by such unworthy and underhand devices. I have gone to the honorable high court engaged Dr Khalid Ranjha Senior Advocate Supreme Court, against this harassment and will fight this out in the open and seek justice.”
Leena Ghani is one of the witnesses who are supporting Meesha Shafi’s allegations of sexual harassment against Ali Zafar.
