Two brothers among three electrocuted in Karachi’s DHA
KARACHI: At least three people, two brothers among them, were killed due to electrocution in Karachi’s upscale DHA locality on Sunday.
Torrential rains have crippled normal life in Karachi, causing power outages and suspension of road traffic.
Sindh Information Minister Saeed Ghani, in a tweet, appealed to Karachi residents to stay indoor due to relentless rain. He said that the heavy downpour made it possible for the city administration to drain out water.
According to official sources, two brothers and a third person were electrocuted at an inundated road in DHA.
The number of number killed due to electrocution since Friday night rose to 11. There are also report of several sacrificial animals also electrocuted in two days due to heavy rains.
Meanwhile, Met Office has warned that more widespread rains are expected in the next 24 hours in Karachi and other southern parts of the city.
