Twitter sends a notice to President Alvi on Kashmir tweet
ISLAMABAD: Twitter sent a notice to President Arif Alvi over a tweet of his in which he had slammed the Modi government for atrocities being committed in occupied Kashmir.
The news was tweeted by Federal Minister for Human Rights, Shireen Mazari. In her tweet, Ms Mazari condemned the Modi government and Twitter for the notice being ‘in bad taste and simply ridiculous’.
“Twitter has really gone too far in becoming mouthpiece of the Rogue Modi govt! They sent a notice to our President! In bad taste and simply ridiculous,” she tweeted.

However, if one is to go through the notice, it says that President Alvi did not violate any Twitter rules or regulations or any established laws.
The notice just mentions that a tweet of the president concerning riots in Srinagar was reported by someone.
Prominent Pakistani Twitter accounts, such as one belonging to Fasi Zaka, were suspended by Twitter for tweeting against the Kashmir issue.
Pakistan government has announced it will go to court to fight these charges.
