Shahid Khaqan Abbasi further remanded into NAB’s custody till August 15
ISLAMABAD: An accountability court on Thursday further remanded former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi into NAB’s custody in an ongoing probe in the liquefied natural gas (LNG) case.
The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) produced the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz senior vice-president before the court, where Abbasi said he would represent himself.
“I was a minister at the time and I know the LNG case better”, he said.
During today’s hearing, Judge Muhammad Bashir approved NAB’s request to extend Abbasi’s remand till August 15.
Last month, NAB arrested the former premier near the Thokar Niaz Baig Toll Plaza following an investigation into his alleged awarding of LNG terminal contracts to a company of which he was a shareholder.
