Pakistan, India resume technical talks on Kartarpur corridor
DERA BABA NANAK: Pakistan and India on Friday held the fourth round of technical level talks on the Kashmir Corridor to finalise arrangements for inaugurating the project by November this year.
Delegations from the two neighboring countries met at Zero Point near Dera Baba Nanak, discussing the progress of the construction work on the corridor.
Solutions for other issues in the initiative, including border crossings.
Reports said Pakistan has completed nearly all of the work on its side of the corridor, while construction work on India’s part is not even half-completed.
However, officials are hopeful that the inaugural will not face any delay and will take place in time for the 550th birth anniversary celebrations of Baba Guru Nanak later this year.
Delegation level talks on the Kartarpur corridor are expected to be held in the first week of September. It is feared that the recent bilateral tensions concerning occupied Kashmir could affect the schedule.
