Never discuss national institutions in derogatory manners: Ahsan Iqbal advises PML-N followers
ISLAMABAD: Former interior minister and PML-N Secretary General Ahsan Iqbal on Saturday advised his party’s supporters to refrain from using derogatory language against national institutions.
In a message on Twitter, Ahsan Iqbal said that PML-N was a responsible national party that was committed to undiluted democracy, supremacy of constitution and respecting the country’s national institutions.
“As Sec Gen PMLN my advice to all PMLN followers, who carry PMLN banner on their accts, is to never discuss nat’l institutions in derogatory manner. We are a responsible nat’l party committed to undiluted democracy, supremacy of constitution & respecting our nat’l institutions,” Iqbal tweeted.
It is not clear what may have prompted Ahsan Iqbal to issue a statement on behalf of the PML-N. But there was a debate on social media about Senator Hasil Bizenjo’s allegations that ISI was behind politicians who ditched their parties and voted in favour of Sadiq Sanjrani in opposition’s no-trust.
Pakistan army media cell rejected the allegations as unfounded, adding the entire democratic process should not be brought into disrepute for petty political gains.
