Mohsin Abbas Haider lashes out at fellow celebs for ‘believing a crying woman’
Pakistani actor and singer Mohsin Abbasi Haider has lashed out at fellow celebrities for ‘believing a crying woman’ after a police investigation found him not guilty of some offences.
Mohsin Abbas Haider has been caught up in his domestic abuse case since the past month. The actor was recently found not guilty by a police investigation over some offences in the case.
The probe cleared him of allegations of breach of trust and demanding money from his wife. The court had urged both parties, Mohsin Abbas and his wife, to present their respective arguments in the case in the next hearing.
On Wednesday, the court did find Mohsin Abbas Haider guilty of threatening his wife. “The incidents the accuser has narrated are false and nothing but the lies,” claimed Mohsin’s lawyer. “The investigation was high profile and it was conducted by the SSP, ADIG monitored it themselves. No money trail was found.”
Mohsin said that he was disappointed at the reaction of the film fraternity after his wife started a campaign against him on social media.
“I hope people who have caused me so much stress to come out and say what they have to say now,” he said, saying that celebrities had been quick to believe a ‘crying woman’.
Last month, Mohsin’s wife Fatema Sohail had claimed in a lengthy Facebook post that her husband had beaten her up last year when she was pregnant.
Fatema claimed that Mohsin had kicked, punched and thrown her against a wall when she was carrying his child. She accused him of having an affair with upcoming model Nazish Jahangir.
Dua Malik and Gohar Rasheed had both claimed that they were eyewitnesses to Mohsin beating the hell out of his wife. Humaima Malick had also criticised the actor over his alleged actions.
Mohsin had denied the allegations.
