Mehwish Hayat shames Bollywood for stealing Pakistani songs
KARACHI: Film and TV actor Mehwish Hayat has flayed India’s entertainment industry for stealing Pakistani songs.
“I find this strange. On the one hand Bollywood vilifies Pakistan at every opportunity they get. On the other, they continue to steal our songs without so much as an acknowledgment. “Copyright violation” and “royalty payments” obviously mean nothing,” Ms Hayat tweeted while tagging a report about Alia Bhatt’s song.
The 26-year-old’s solo song ‘Prada’, features The Lamberghini famed singer, The Doorbeen. The melody of the song has striking similarity to one of Vital Signs’ popular song, Goray Rung Ka Zamana!
A day earlier, she called out Shah Rukh Khan for producing an anti-Pakistani Netflix film ‘Bard of Blood”.
“This just vindicates what I have been saying for so long. Another week & yet another anti-Pakistan project. Now can we wake up, smell the coffee & see Bollywood’s agenda for what it is? @iamsrk Be patriotic, nobody is stopping you – just don’t do it at the expense of vilifying us,” she wrote on Twitter.
