Karachi rain live updates: Six dead, army joins rescue operation

As torrential rainfall continued to pound Pakistan’s most populous city Karachi, social media was flooded with rain updates.
In one of the viral videos shared by multiple Twitter users, an elderly man can be seen using a makeshift boat and a house viper in the city’s most DHA locality to get around.
In a second viral video, a motorist passes through a flooded street in DHA, creating oceanic waves.
According to weather forecasting agency, as of 10:45 am Sunday morning, 151 mm of rain fell in Karachi – that’s 6 inches – Karachi’s average rainfall for the month of August is 40 mm –

Eight people have been rescued when the Korangi Causeway bridge collapsed in Karachi on Sunday morning.
Three of them were lifted via a crane and five others, including two children were rescued by boat.
Portions of a bridge were swept away in flooding in Karachi, cutting Korangi Crossing off from the rest of the city.
