SRINAGAR: A BBC footage exposed India’s lies that there is peace in Kashmir as thousands of marchers are seen being fired upon by Indian Army troops.

The video was tweeted by Nicola Careem, BBC;s South Asia Bureau Chief. Thousands of protestors can be seen in the video chanting slogans against India, holding placards and being fired upon by Indian Army troops.

“WATCH: Despite government saying reports of protests in Saura were completely fabricated, see exclusive BBC footage here for the truth. Thousands marched, police fired on protesters, dozens injured. #Kashmir #BBCUrdu,” she tweeted.

On Monday, India revoked Article 370 of the constitution that granted special status to the Jammu and Kashmir region. Former chief ministers Mehbooba Mufti and Omar Abdullah were taken into custody.

While India claims there is peace in the occupied area, thousands took to the streets on Friday against illegal Indian annexation.

Pakistan responded sharply to the Indian decision by downgrading diplomatic ties and suspending trade with its arch-rival.
