Indian staff of Facebook, Twitter suspending Pakistani accounts: Asif Ghafoor
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan army chief spokesman Maj-Gen Asim Bajwa has slammed the Indian staff of Twitter and Facebook for suspending accounts of Pakistanis highlighting human rights abuses of Indian army in Kashmir.
In a Twitter statement on Sunday, DG ISPR Asif Ghafoor said Paksitan has raised the matter with Facebook and Twitter.
He urged the netizens to share details of the accounts suspended by the popular social networking sites in recent days.
“Pakistan authorities have taken up case with Twitter & Facebook against suspending Pakistani accounts for posting in support of Kashmir. Indian staff at their regional Headquarters is the reason. Please post in reply suspended accounts that you know,” Asif Ghafoor tweeted.
Several Pakistani journalists and activists have complained that they accounts were suspended after they posted tweets about Kashmir.
Human Rights Minister Shireen Mazari also condemned Twitter for toeing the Indian line on the issue.

Alongwith hundreds of Pakistani activists’, my account @MashwaniAzhar has also been suspended by Twitter, without any warning or intimation.
