Hareem Farooq says Pakistan doesn’t have film technicians or actors
Pakistani actress Hareem Farooq thinks the film industry doesn’t have the proper film technicians, actors or writers for its movies to thrive.
The actress said during an interview with BBC Asian Network in which she said that Pakistan does not have the film, the writer or even technicians to make an excellent movie. Hareem said that it was due to passion that Pakistanis were making films.
“So, even if there is a bad film, you need to understand and our audiences need to understand, that we don’t have the technicians, the writers, or even the actors for films. Everyone is learning and the only reason why people are doing films is passion and it’s just purely passion, trust me on this,” she said.
Hareem said that Pakistanis need to own their film industry. She said that this was because Hollywood and Bollywood were centuries old film industries while the Pakistani film industry was only six years old.
“Bollywood, Hollywood, Tamilwood, they’re centuries old, while Pakistani cinema is probably just six years old. We talk about making something out of our country, and we want to take our cinema abroad,” he said.
The actress is gearing up for an Eid release of her upcoming Lollywood movie Heer Maan Ja in which she stars once again in the lead role with Ali Rehman Khan.
