Celebrities mark their support for #LetsCleanKhi drive

The Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs of Pakistan has triggered a movement for ecological improvement in the country’s busiest city, Karachi. The hashtag #LetsCleanKhi has started trending on Twitter, with Pakistani celebrities like Mehwish Hayat coming out in support.

“It is time that we took responsibility to clean our wonderful city. Do we really want to live amongst this filth? Kudos to @AliHZaidiPTI for initiating this. #letscleanKHI Everyone needs to go out and do their bit – it is our rubbish lets clean it up!”, the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz laureate tweeted.

Ali Haider Zaidi started this project, which now has hundreds and thousands of retweets. It is now a volunteer program where anyone can sign up to take part in the Karachi clean up.

Ali Zafar also anticipated the campaign, assuring his full support on the initiative.

The music band Strings also pledges their absolute support.

Anwar Maqsood conveyed his anticipation in a video message with a poetic style, encouraging the people of Karachi to support the government in this campaign.

Singer Salman Ahmed also took to Twitter to announce that he is part of Let’s Clean Karachi campaign.
