Ex-Olympian Ahmed Alam appointed as Pak’s hockey goalkeeping coach

KARACHI: The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has on Saturday appointed former hockey skipper Ahmed Alam as goalkeeping coach of the team.

According to details, Alam has joined the ongoing training camp to prepare players for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics qualifiers.

Alam said that he has requested the PHF to expand the selection for goalkeepers. “There are a lot of talented goalkeepers in the country. They need to be trained ,” he said.

It is worth mentioning here that Ahmed Alam led Pakistan in the 2000 Summer Olympics in Australia. The side finished at fourth position in the mega sporting event.
