KARACHI: The Sindh High Court on Friday granted a 7-day pre-arrest bail to former finance minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Miftah Ismail.
Ismail filed for pre-arrest bail at the top court in relation to LNG (liquefied natural gas) case earlier today, a day after National Accountability Bureau (NAB) signed his arrest warrants and released teams to take him into custody.
Speaking to media outside the court, the PML-N leader said there was no need for NAB to conduct raids, given that he received notices after 3 pm yesterday.
The PML-N leader said he had always appeared before the anti-graft body on receiving summon notices from it.
Ismail arrived at the court with the former managing director of Pakistan State Oil Sheikh Imranul Haque, for whom arrest warrants were also issued. A NAB team was also present at the SHC premises at the time.
A day earlier, a NAB team had raided his residence but was unable to make an arrest as he had left the house prior to their arrival.
