Shamoon Abbasi says he declined a movie with Priyanka Chopra
Pakistani actor Shamoon Abbasi could have been another face in the Bollywood industry as he opened up about receiving a call from a filmmaker offering him a movie with Priyanka Chopra.
The 46-year-old actor, appearing in a TV show ‘Har Lamha Purjosh’ said film producer Hasan Zia had phoned him from Delhi and told him that Vishal Bhardwaj, a Bollywood director, wanted him to cast him with Priyanka Chopra.
Abbasi mentioned he had signed up for the Pakistani movie ‘Waar’ and eagerly requested if the schedule for the Bollywood project could be pushed a bit.
“He [Zia] got angry and said, ‘You’re telling me I should ask Priyanka Chopra to wait for you. I said yes, he said ‘no’,” he further added.
Abbasi shared that he is content that he made his nation proud by making ‘Waar’ and feels obliged to contribute to Pakistan’s film industry.
On the work front, Abbasi has his directorial debut ‘Durj’ hitting the theatres in October.
