Pakistani actor Shaan Shahid has dropped another bomb, this one targetting Shahrukh Khan’s upcoming Lion King which is only a Hindi-dubbed version of the iconic animated film.

The movie will be introducing King Khan’s son Aryan Khan as he lends his voice to Simba, of which, Khan shared a promo on social media, writing “Mera Simba.. #TheLionKing @disneyfilmsindia”.

With SRK as Mufasa and Aryan as Simba, one can hardly make out any difference in the Jon Favreau directorial classic movie.

Shaan Shahid, too, ended up mistaking Simba’s voice as Shahrukh Khan’s. However, Shahid went on to find faults in the dubbing of the lion’s voice and thought the movie would have been better if left un-dubbed.

Shaan took his opinion to social media and asked SRK to leave the iconic film alone.

“[Please] don’t destroy an iconic film with Hindi [dubbing,] ” begins Shaan, not even trying to be subtle. “No difference in Shah Rukh’s voice, it is like any other [voiceover] he does for his films. At least change your voice expression for a lion’s dub.”

“James Earl Jones must be laughing, What Shah Rukh failed to understand is that the characters in the film are sketched according to the dubbing artists’ facial expressions. If you see Simba, he resembles Matthew Broderick.”

‘The Lion King’ is scheduled to be released on July 19 in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
