Mastermind of Chinese consulate attack arrested
ISLAMABAD: Rashid Brohi, the suspected mastermind of the 2018 bomb and gun attack on the Chinese consulate in Karachi, has been captured.
Brohi, a member of defunct Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), was wanted by Pakistan for planning the terrorist attack.
At least four people, including two policeman and two civilians, were killed when armed men stormed the Chinese consulate in Karachi on November 2018.
According to sources, the suspect has been transported to Pakistan after being detained from a Gulf state.
Brohi had allegedly monitored the overall plan of the attack and provided all facilities to the attackers.
The suspect had fled Pakistan shortly after the attack.
The investigation officers have collected critical information from him during interrogation.
