Maryam, Shehbaz give ‘proof’ against accountability judge in presser
LAHORE: PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz held a press conference on Saturday and presented ‘solid proof’ against an accountability judge for issuing a verdict against Nawaz Sharif.
Maryam played an audio and videotape of an alleged conversation between a man Nasir Butt and Accountability Judge Arshad Malik.
In the conversation, the accountability judge allegedly claims that he was ‘blackmailed’ and ‘pressurised’ to issue the verdict against Nawaz Sharif. Malik allegedly admitted that he was feeling ‘guilty’ for issuing the verdict against the former prime minister.
“I had said it before and I will say it again; I will not let Mian sahab become Morsi,” she said.
Maryam said that she was fighting the case of every democratically elected prime minister who had been denied justice. Maryam said that all she wanted was to bring reality to the fore about Nawaz Sharif’s case.
During the press conference, Maryam lashed out at Imran Khan and said that his government was on ‘crutches’.
“Why don’t you come forward, let go of the crutches and face us in the open field?” she said, referring to the prime minister. “You will always be remembered as a puppet and a selected leader,” she added.
Maryam said that it was her constitutional, legal and political right to address the people of Mandi Bahauddin.
“I was stopped by this government on crutches from speaking to the people. However, I want to tell the people of Mandi Bahauddin–be ready, I am coming tomorrow to meet you tomorrow,” she said.
