The Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) will be the first centre in Pakistan as LUMS has been accredited as a testing centre for suspected illegal bowling actions, the International Cricket Council (ICC) announced on Thursday.

The National Cricket Centre in Brisbane, Loughborough University, Sri Ramachandra University in Chennai and the University of Pretoria are the other four centres where reported players’ tests are being conducted.

The general manager of ICC, Geoff Allardice congratulated PCB on getting the first ICC accreditation centre in the country.

“I want to congratulate the Pakistan Cricket Board, which worked in conjunction with LUMS to fulfill the criteria required for an ICC accredited testing center,”

While responding, PCB MD Wasim Khan said the biomechanical lab will help identifying and fixing illegal bowling actions of the players at a very early stage.
