Karachi’s weather turns pleasant after first spell of monsoon rain
KARACHI: The city received its first spell of monsoon rain on Monday, as the weather took a turn for the better. Several areas of the city suffered from power outage.
The Met department had predicted that Karachi would receive its first spell of monsoon rain on Monday. The hot weather turned pleasant as the city received rain.
The airport area received four millimeters of rain in the first two hours. However, the rain caused power outages in several parts of the city.
K-Electric claimed that it was working on restoring power. A Geo TV report claimed that as many as 400 feeders had tripped due to the rain.
The Met department has predicted that Karachi can receive up to 40-45 millimeters of rain. The monsoon season will most likely end on Wednesday.
Heavy rain has been forecast for the city on Monday and Tuesday. Met department officials have claimed that it’s unlikely that Karachi will receive rain in the first week of August.
